We need:
- Actors:
3 women and 3 men. Ages: flexible, but preferably…- Edward, male lead, 45+
- Alex, Edward’s friend, roughly the same age +/-
- Ruby, Edward’s wife, 35-40
- Glenda, a friend of Alex’s, 25-30
- Frances (only 2nd half) says she’s 48, but…
- Hedley (only 2nd half), 50+, bald head preferable
- Production helpers:
- assistant director,
- stage manager/hands,
- light & sound operators
About the play
Edward is a playwright and husband of the tempestuous actress Ruby. Tragically, Ruby is found dead in bed after the last night of their theatre’s Hamlet. A year later, Edward remains deeply affected and has moved into the attic room of one of his oldest actor friends, Alex. Edward needs a new play for the company but is suffering from writer’s block. On the brink of despair, he receives help in an unexpected form and ultimately learns the true cause of Ruby’s death. Be prepared for lots of suspense… and laughs.
