About the play

Jerome Teppel, a well-off accountant, discovers his new wife, Francine, bought a gun and is having an affair with their neighbor’s husband. Following these discoveries, the plot descends into a chaotic mix of betrayal, humor, a prison break, and a prune danish.

Sam Bobrick (July 24, 1932 – October 11, 2019) wrote and co-wrote over forty plays, most of them performed throughout theworld, which include: Norman, Is That You?, Murder at the Howard Johnson’s, WeekendComedy, Remember Me?, Death in England, Passengers, Are You Sure?, Baggage, Getting Sara Married, The Spider or the Fly, and – without William Shakespeare’s blessing –Hamlet II (Better Than The Original). It’s Only Murder isn’t the first one of his plays produced at the Keller Theatre – but it might be the first time this play is produced in Germany!

In 2011, Mr. Bobrick won the Mystery Writers of America “Edgar” Award for his play The Psychic. Some of his television credits include The Andy Griffith Show, Get Smart, The Smothers Brothers Show, Bewitched and numerous musical variety shows. Mr. Bobrick also created the teenage hit series Saved By The Bell. Also a songwriter, his work has been recorded by Elvis Presley, Brian Ferry, and Los Lobos.
